Description

Returns the inverse tangent of a value, in radians.

Syntax

ATAN(value)

  • value - The value for which to calculate the inverse tangent.

Notes

  • The DEGREES function can be used to convert the result of ATAN into degrees.

  • Because tangent is periodic, there are many solutions to the inverse. ATAN returns the solution between -Pi/2 and Pi/2.
